Christy Calerwood serves as associate general counsel and vice president for Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a private, not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in New Mexico and the state's largest provider of healthcare.  In her role, Ms. Calerwood advises the Presbyterian enterprise on matters involving health law, administrative law, state and federal regulatory complicance and contracts.

She has more than 24 years' experience in health law and has previously served Presbyterian in roles as the risk management attorney and the delivery system attorney focusing on provider issues, work-place safety, EMTALA, HIPPA and medical staff issues.  Prior to practicing in health care law, Ms. Calderwood practiced in the areas of professional malpractice, federal tort claims, insurance defense and tort claims on Native American lands.  She was previously a member of the H. Vearle Payne American Inn of Court, served on the federals rules committee in the 10th circuit and was licensed to practice in six Native American courts including the Navajo Nation.

Ms. Calderwood is an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law where she teaches health law and currently serves as a board member for the New Mexico Health Professional Wellness Program, a non-profit focused on providing accessible resourses for health professionals struggling with physical and mental health issues and substance abuse.
